Welcome to the Auction News page of Auctionzip.com. My name is John Strogus and I hope this will be the beginning of a long friendship between me and you the reader. I am a retired grandfather of seven and have been attending auctions most of my adult life. While attending auctions I acquired a special interest in antique tools, railroad memorabilia and glassware. I have since started collecting and selling these items at an antique mall. I enjoy auctions to the point of going seven days a week if my wife would let me. She claims that would interfere with her honey do list. So this column will afford me the opportunity to go to more auctions and write about auction companies, auctioneers, auction regulars, and just plain folk who have auctions in their blood as I do. My writing background has included writing a children’s historical fiction series in a local newspaper for a few years, a local human interest column, and a few human interest stories for a magazine. I wrote these while working full time.
